I chose this Saab ad mainly for two reasons.

1. Rally

2. In 1991, the largest engine Saab had ever produced was a 2.3. I love that.

zac, what are the rules on cotd? does it have to be a post that originated on jalop? or can it be anything shared by jalop on the fp and also oppo? also, how looked down upon are self noms? does it need to spur conversation, or just gain recs?

yeah i have an idea about that. I think if its like funny but racially/gender/religious insensitive or just plain mean or making fun of someone, it won't make it.

Yeah, it definitely hit the trifecta on that one. I think we were getting crossover by Deadspinners with all the +1s and comments behind it. I kind of feel dirty when they touch my star. Plus, once you've won a COTD, throw out a rec for someone you follow that you think doesn't get any recognition. I try to keep my eyes open for comedy gold all day long. #payitforward

See, the thing about COTDs is you can't just put out a call for them - you need to wait quietly behind a fake rock while they come out in the open on their own and start sniffing each other's butts.

I prefer it to be a Jalopnik post, but I also include stuff from Truck Yeah, Flight Club, Foxtrot and Doug. If there's an Oppo post that's been shared to the front, I'll also consider those comments.

I don't look down on self noms, I'll consider them with all the rest.
